Gandia on the Southern Costa Azahar

Gandia

Gandia is the first larger resort south of Valencia.

It is actually split into two distinct parts. The old town of Gandia sits a few kilometres inland from the beach resort. The old town dates back to medieval times and is relatively quiet.
If you are looking to stay here, there are a number of small hotels and hostales.
For sightseers there is the Palacio Ducal de los Borja, which dates back to the 14th century and is well worth a visit.

Gandia Playa is a bustling resort, and the beach gets quite crowded in summer. It is especially popular with the Spanish tourists. Most of Gandias bars can be found along the beachfront as well as a lot of its restaurants; a good place to try a paella or some locally caught fish.
