Some additional information on the weather here on the Costa del Azahar:

Even though it is more or less what you would expect from a typical Mediterranean climate with a lot of sunshine, hot summers and mild winters, there are differences to the rest of the Spanish Mediterranean coast. No big surprises though: Average temperatures are only about one degree less than in the far south where you get the hottest weather, and maybe about three degrees more than in the north, close to the French border. Have a look at the table below which gives you a comparison of average temperatures for different places in Spain and Europe.

What about sunshine and rain? Again, this area sits between the very dry regions of the south and the wetter regions of northern Catalonia. This means you normally just about get enough rain over the year to not have water shortages over the summer months, and it makes the area just that little bit greener. As a matter of fact, you do not get that much less rain than in London for example, but rain often comes in short downpours after which the sun comes back out quickly. You still get over 300 sunny days a year on the Costa del Azahar so not that many less than further south.

One characteristic of the Mediterranean climate is, that it can be very unpredictable. You never know which part of the year rain might fall, some years you might hardly get any, in others there might be a lot more.

Average temperatures for different Spanish & European cities:

Please note that these are average temperatures over 24 hours, meaning average daytime temperatures should normally be above these figures, nighttime temperatures below (all temperatures in °C).
